How to I deal with a long distance relationship?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for about 8 months. Everything is great except in the fall we are going to different colleges. We're both 18. I may be able to see him once a month or so. Right now he lives only like 10 min away. I'm trying to get used to the fact that he won't be around much and when I do that I try to distance myself from it. I seem to get irritated easier and ';pick'; fights not meaning to but at the same time I do mean to. I'm trying to cope with it, but I feel bad if I do that sort of stuff because he didn't really do anything. I hate it when I do that. I'm sure I'm not the only one. It's complicated. I have talked to him about this, but it on;y helps for the time being. Where he is going to school he's also going into the Corps. He's worried that another guy that is around will come and take me away. We've never had a long distance relationship. We love each other so much, I just worry about things that may happen, that I will feel left out from everything. I'm not even going to be able to talk to him like we do now every night before sleeping. I don't want to break up. Any ideas on how to deal with this? Any ideas on how to make the most of the time we do have together? I would really like to hear from someone who has been here before and knows what it's like. But any ones ideas are welcome. just keep talking to him and ignore other guys
break up before either one of you cheats on each other in college and ruins it forever. After college, if you guys are closer, than get back together. He may be the right guy, just not the right time. I know it will hurt in the beginning, but its for the best. No one wants to be a cheater, but it's inevitably going to happen in college. Good luck.
Its ok, i understand :3 Im in a long distance as well, and have been for a year and a half, my boyfriend was here for about...4 months. Then had to leave but we decided to stay together. My advice, is to talk every day on the phone, just to say i love you or chat. To get a webcam, and mic so you can talk online and see each other. Do um ';special'; webcam nights if you know what i mean (if your comfortable) or even send ';special'; photos, once again, if your comfortable. Thats just a way to say here, im still yours, and to just keep them with you xD Send packages on birthdays and X-mas. Write little love letters and things like that. Also, just please trust each other, because that will help so much in the end.
