How does someone deal with a long distance relationship?

We never had sex so one of us doing it with someone else is highly unlikely. We're both gonna be in different schools a number of states apart for a year. We're willing to wait it out and let each other grow more in life. I think this will be good...ONLY if we end up being patient and sticking it out. How does someone go about things when they meet someone that they like? What is excepted? How should i feel when she is spending time with more guys? What expectations should i have? HELP, HELP , HELPHow does someone deal with a long distance relationship?
This is where trust and communication comes into play at. Trust each other and always communicate with one another. Also, do not jump to conclusions about each other and do not smother each other with what did you do, where did you go, who did you go with, what time did you get home? Those really bother one another and shows that you don't trust and believe in each other. Trust me me and my fiancee' were away from each other for a year and a half, and things were a little rocky but in the end it is all worth the wait. we get married next saturday on the 8th.How does someone deal with a long distance relationship?
You didn't say so exactly, but I get from your question that you recognize that trust is one of the most important aspects of a long distance relationship. Trust goes hand in hand with honest communication. If she's spending more time with guys, you've got to just feel the jealousy and trust that she won't do anything you'd be uncomfortable with. And by the same token, if at some point you find yourself interested in another girl, talk to her about it before doing anything. That's how you build trust. The other thing you guys should think about is webcams. Seeing the other person's face makes communication sooo much easier. And then finally, try to keep things low pressure. Try to spend ';virtual'; time together, chatting and playing games on http://www.6rounds.com or listening to music together. Send each other postcards and notes. Try not to worry about it all the time. You've got to live your life in the meantime otherwise it won't be worth it. Best of luck.
